All roads lead to Newry Show
Horse and pony showing and show jumping classes will be run by Otterglen Riding Club
Newry Show is set to take place on Saturday, June 28, with the Horse and Pony Section, being run by Otterglen Riding Club, at 12-18 Derrywilligan Road, Newry. Horse and pony classes are being sponsored by The Willow Veterinary Clinic, Portadown and Markethill.
Please note that entries for showing classes close this Saturday, June 21, while show jumping is enter on the day. Entry fee is £10 ponies, £15 horses.
There will be pony showing classes for mares or geldings not exceeding 133cm (Lead Rein permitted) and for mares or geldings not exceeding 143cm, as well as a Fancy Dress class.
Ridden horses classes will cater for Hunters four years old and over, exceeding 148cm; Coloured horses; and Racehorse to Riding Horses.
Show jumping entries will be taken on the field, with classes following the showing classes after lunch. Classes will be run American-style, with the second round timed. Classes will be cross-poles (may be assisted/ lead rein), 50-60cm, 75-80cm and 85-90cm.
Rules are available on the Newry Show website, but in all classes, the judge’s decision is final.
