Amy takes 1.30m honours at The Meadows

Lurgan venue hosts popular registered and unregistered show jumping classes

The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan, continued with their regular horse series on Saturday, July 26, hosting classes for both registered and unregistered competitors.

Amy McCormick took the honours in the 1.30m SJI class on board Stephen McCormick’s ‘GSS Macey Grey’, with Ellie Humphries taking both second and third places riding Jane Allen Collins’s ‘Lougherne Kingfisher’ and ‘Lougherne After Dark’ respectively.

Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:

The 1.20m SJI class belonged to owner-riders and saw Joshua Russell take the top spot with his own ‘Ringmoor’; followed by Kadri Lumila on her own ‘Cruising Casey’ in second and Michaela Murphy on her own ‘McKinley’.

Ian Moore claimed a one-two in the 1.10m SJI class, taking first place on his own ‘Triple C’ and second on ‘Pinecroft Galaxy’. Mary McLeigh placed third on her own ‘Dunnanew Sunset’.

The 1m SJI class saw 15 combinations jumping double clear rounds, while just two managed to do so over the 90cm course. There were no entries for the 80cm SJI class this week.

The unregistered classes provided a challenge for both horse and pony competitors, with quite a number incurring faults. Congratulations to all those who managed to keep all the poles intact!
