'Angel' jumps into the ribbons at Hagans Croft
Weather turns cold and wet, but competition is hot
Hagans Croft saw a change in weather conditions for the second week of their Jump Mix league on Saturday, September 16 after tropical temperatures the previous week, cold and wet conditions were on the schedule.
The day started out with the cross-poles class and, with everyone achieving a double clear round, the day got off to a fantastic start. A special request was made for a 40cm class to be added to the league, this meant that the course was raised to parallel poles for the two competitors entered to take part. It was a clear round for Alex Hemsley and 'Angel' and an unfortunate four faults for Lauren O'Rourke and 'Harry', nevertheless both competitors received a rosette and ice cream for all their efforts.

It was then on to the 50cm class, where the competition started to hot up, due to the timer coming into affect from fences nine through to 12. It was first place for Alex Hemsley and 'Angel'. This was ‘Angel’s’ third double clear round of the day and it would be safe to say 'Angel' is on top form! Rachel Stranney and 'Snowey' took the turns the course had to offer and achieved second place on the day.
The 60cm class was the largest of the day and for the second consecutive week, Victoria McCurdy-White took the win on 'Temple Bui', second place went to Lauren O'Rourke riding 'Prince'. Lauren then went on to take the win in the 70cm class, this time riding 'Max', with second place going to Violet Campbell and 'Jet'.
Abbey Stevenson and 'Echo' were the only combination to finish clear in the 80cm class, therefore, no-one could deny them the red rosette. Second place went to Denise Kelly-Rice on 'Si Senior'.
Caitlin Trainor and 'Zara' were clear on the scoreboard in the 90cm class and, with a fast time of 35.2 seconds, they took the win; second place went to Sarah-Jayne Trainor and 'Chelsea Rose' and first in the 1m class went to Emma Brown and 'Elly Bouncer'.
