Armagh Show fast approaching
Varied schedule offers a great day out for competitors and spectators alike
The 177th Armagh County Agricultural Show and Country Festival will return this Saturday, June 8 to the beautiful surroundings of Gosford Forest Park, close to the village of Markethill, on the main Armagh / Newry Road, six miles from Armagh and 12 miles from Newry.
Armagh Show will host its usual wide variety of horse and pony showing classes, as well as classes for donkeys, miniatures, side saddle and racehorse to riding horses. Horse and pony working hunter classes are also on offer, with pony classes from cross-poles to open and horse classes for Pre-Novice (70cm), Novice and Irish Draught (80cm) and Open (1m).
Please note that all entries for these classes are now closed.
Entries for horse and pony show jumping will be taken on the day. There will be two show jumping rings in operation from 9.30am, with pony classes running from cross-poles up to 90cm at £10 per entry. Horse classes run from 70cm up to 1m at £15 per entry.
Alongside the equestrian classes, there will be livestock, poultry and home industries classes, as well as the usual selection of trade stands.
Spectators are very welcome to attend and take in the picturesque setting, some top class competition and, hopefully, a bit of sunshine!
