Buser proves best at Portmore
Markus Buser and 'Kesha' won the 1.25m class at Aghalee venue
The SJI Horse Shows at Portmore Equestrian Centre, Aghalee always prove popular and the well-built courses set challenges that bring out the best in horses and riders in classes from 80cm up to 1.30m.
Markus Buser proved best in the 1.25m class at Portmore’s SJI Horse Show on Sunday, July 27 with his own ‘Kesha’. Owner-riders also placed second and third, with Tori Dunn and her own ‘Ofanartica’ in second and Janie Cairns’ on her own ‘Premier Charlie’ in third place.

In the 1.20m class, Beverly Irwin took the win on board Lisa Rosbotham’s ‘Novellent’, ahead of Luke Campbell on Stephanie Williamson’s ‘Ohorn Van De Renvillehoeve’ in the runner-up spot and Rebecca Mooney on her own ‘Galwaybay Jack’ in third.
The 1.10m class saw Danni Jennings continuing her run of form with her own ‘Super Star’ (IHR), followed by Rebecca Mooney on her own ‘Knockroe Decies Girl’ in second and Taylor McKnight on Christine McKnight’s ‘Tassagh Sky Doctor’ in third.
There was a great turnout for the smaller classes, with a very impressive 14 double clears in the 1m class, with nine jumping clear in the 90cm and just one in the 80cm class.
Show jumping continues at Portmore with a Training Show on Tuesday night, an unregistered league on Saturday and an SJI Horse Show on Sunday.
