Castlewellan Show imminent
Castlewellan Forest Park the picturesque venue for all-day show action
Saturday, July 19 will see Castlewellan Show being held in the picturesque surroundings of Castlewellan Forest Park, with the action running from 9am until 5pm.
Each year, the show features classes for cattle, sheep, goats, horses, ponies, donkeys, poultry, pigs, rabbits, dog agility and home industries. A wide range of trade stands, food and craft producers showcase their wares, alongside live music, vintage tractors, carriage driving, demonstrations of countryside pursuits, Young Farmers’ competitions, pet show, fashion tent, vintage tea tent and children’s amusements, which will entertain all day long.
The show is organised by an enthusiastic committee, who are keen to welcome visitors from towns and cities to profile all the countryside has to offer. There is lots for children and young people to do and see, with those of primary school age admitted free of charge. There is free parking on site.
Most of the equestrian entries are now closed, but show jumping is entry on the day, as are Horse working hunter (classes 50 to 60 only).
