Starting in Wicklow, Kathryn’s journey took her to Cork, Kerry, Clare and Galway.
Speaking about her epic travels along the Wild Atlantic Way, Kathryn said: “What I enjoyed most about the trip was the gorgeous reality of painting in a thatched Irish cottage beside a turf fire after a day of doing nothing except enjoying the fresh air!
“From exploring Kinsale and meeting new friends at Killarney Falconry, to taking a walk around Dingle, relaxing on Lahinch beach and visiting Cruit Island in Donegal!
“This trip was about reconnecting with the landscape, people, and stories that make Ireland so unique. I wanted to capture not just what I saw, but what I felt along the way.
“The Wild Atlantic Way has inspired artists for generations, and I was truly inspired to create my own sketches, while making sure I immersed myself in the most beautiful sights, listening to incredible local stories and soaking up the sounds of some of Ireland’s most captivating coastal towns.
“I was able to blend creativity, culture, and nature in my adventure, going horse riding, visiting traditional Irish pubs, hiking, paddleboarding, meeting local wildlife, savouring the local food and enjoying the land from a rib off the coast of Dingle.”
More than a personal adventure, Kathryn’s road trip was a celebration of Ireland’s coast through the eyes of one of its most dynamic artistic voices. The journey promised a rich mix of intricate sketches, real-time storytelling, and stunning backdrops.
