Charity Show draws crowds to Connell Hill

Show jumpers of all levels raise over £1750 for worthy cause

A great day of charity show jumping at Connell Hill (Randalstown), in support of the Rheumatology Department at Antrim Area Hospital, was held on Saturday, September 30. Organised by Lyndon McKee of Lyndon McKee Photography and hosted by the Creighton Family of Connell Hill, donations in excess of £1750 were raised through the generosity of all competitors and their families by way of entries, sponsorship, raffle ticket sales and donations from right across the country for this brilliant cause.

Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:

Organisers were delighted with the huge turnout and the level of support, both from competitors and all the very generous sponsors!

With classes from cross-poles right up to 1.20m, there was something to suit all levels of horse, pony and rider and, with all the great prizes on offer, everyone tried their best to take home a prize.

Lyndon McKee would like to thank each and every one who helped in any way, and Connell Hill for their generosity and kindness for offering up their equestrian facilities, all making the day a big success. Throughout the day, competitors in each class received prize money for first to third placings, and the raffle prize winners were Beverley Frair, Clare Chambers, Kathryn Finlay and Neill Campbell. Anyone who has not collected their prize, please contact Connell Hill or Lyndon McKee to ensure you receive them.

Connell Hill will resume their Saturday Training Show this weekend, starting with the cross-poles class, sponsored by Doagh Equestrian, where each competitor entered into the class will receive a lovely rosette for taking part.

There will be classes from cross-poles up to 1.20/1.30m. Details can be found on the Connell Hill Facebook Page and entries can be made online.
