Moore and O'Brien claim multiple placings at Connell SJI horse show
Ian Moore claimed a one-two in 1.10m class, while O'Brien dominated the 1.20m and 1.30m classes
The SJI Horse Summer League continued at Connell Hill Equestrian Centre, Randalstown on Thursday, May 8, with classes offered from 80cm up to 1.30m.
While there were no entries for the 80cm class, there was a good turnout for both the 90cm and 1m classes, with plenty of combinations managing to jump clear rounds.
Ian Moore continued his fantastic run of form with a one-two in the 1.10m class, taking first place with his own ‘Pinecroft Galaxy’ and second place with his own ‘Pinecroft Lamiro’. Christopher Smyth rode Samuel J Smyth’s ‘Ballylurgan Hold Up’ into third.

Aidan O’Brien did even better in the 1.20m class, securing the first three places! He won the class with Daniel Coyle’s ‘Rock Angelo’, placed second with Daniel Coyle’s ‘Ninja M&M’ and third with Kieran O'Brien’s ‘Baskin Centerfold’.
The 1.30m class saw further success for Aidan, who won on board Kieran O'Brien’s ‘Baskin Centerfold’ and took the runner-up spot with Daniel Coyle’s ‘Ninja M&M’. Rosie Alcorn placed third with Lawrence Costello’s ‘Goodwins Whoopi’.
There is no registered show at Connell Hill on Thursday, May 15, due to Balmoral Show, but jumping will return on Thursday, May 22 - entries are through SJI Live.
