Calling all riders: The one equestrian event you do not want to miss this year is coming up...
Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:
The wonderful St. Patrick’s Coast Ride is being held on Saturday, September 2 and entries will be opening soon.
The ride sets off from Downpatrick Racecourse and offers pleasure ride distances of 10 or 20 miles (as well as various competitive trail ride options for ILDRA members). The route takes in some beautiful scenery, including fields, forests, old railway track, gallops and beaches (depending on which distance is ridden), with just a few short road sections - the route is truly stunning!

Vetted Pleasure Rides are available - pleasure riders are automatically entered into the competition for the Pleasure Rider Trophy, special awards and groups of three or four riders can also enter as a team (the best three scores will count).
If you do not plan to ride, but could help on the day, please contact ILDRA.
Organisers look forward to seeing you at Downpatrick Racecourse on Saturday, September 2!
