Double glory for Gigi at Lusk's

Greenvale Electric-sponsored Show jumping Series concludes at Lisburn venue

Lusk Equestrian, near Lisburn, continues their support of grassroots show jumping with their four-week series, kindly sponsored by Karen Connolly of Greenvale Electric, concluding with the final week on Sunday, July 13.

It was great to see the improvement in many of the children, as they competed throughout the series and events director Sarah Whiteside awarded some special prizes in recognition of their great efforts.

The Rising Star award was won by Scarlett Robinson on ‘Talulah’; the Most Improved Combination was won by Ula McCaffrey on ‘Echo’ and the ‘Mr Consistent’ award was won by Jim McShane on ‘Denzil’.

Ula McCaffery and ‘Echo’ won Class 2 60cm at the final of the Show jumping Series at Lusk’s and was awarded the ‘Most Improved Combination’ during the series.

It’s all go at Lusk Equestrian, with the North Derry Pony Club camping for three days for their summer camp. They have the use of three arenas and cross-country for all grades in operation, with five tents for the children and the adults in their luxury horse boxes! Well done to all parents!

Class 1 - 40-50cm:

Violet Davidson and ‘Pippa’ won Class 1 40-50cm at the final of the Show jumping Series at Lusk’s.

Class 2 - 60cm:

1) Ula McCaffery, Echo; 2) Rachel Stranney, AJ; 3) Victoria Graham, Lady; 4) Eme Roelle, Tango.

Class 3 - 70cm:

1) Molly Reid, Bella; 2) Patrick McCready, Buzz; 3) Rachel Stranney, AJ; 4) Tara Cousins, Indie; 5) Ruby McGuinness, George.

Molly Reid and ‘Bella’ won Class 3 70cm at the final of the Show jumping Series at Lusk’s.

Class 4 - 80cm:

1) Ella Tormey, Zach; 2) Chloe Rooney, Markey; 3) Pippa Robinson, Arthur; 4) Ella Morrison, Indie; 5) Leanne McNamara, Homer; 6) Orla Dunne, Ruby.

Ella Tormey and ‘Zach’ won Class 4 80cm at the final of the Show jumping Series at Lusk’s.

Class 5 - 90cm:

1) Gigi Roelle, Derrynoose Lady; 2) Georgia Shannon, Marley; 3) Elizabeth Cherry, Monty Miller; 4) Una Megoran, Indie; 5) Oscar Williams, Flygo.

Georgia Shannon and ‘Marley’ were runners-up in Class 5 90cm at the final of the Show jumping Series at Lusk’s.

Class 6 - 1m:

1) Gigi Roelle, Derrynoose Lady; 2) Megan Houston, Western Ocala.
