Dressage league kicks off at Ardnacashel

Busy schedule as Comber centre also runs Wednesday night jumping

Ardnacashel Equestrian, Comber, held the first leg of their latest Dressage League on Sunday, June 1, with classes from Intro up to Elementary, as well as Pony Club classes from walk/trot up to Novice.

Some super tests were ridden during the day, with Isabella Graham and ‘Kildenoge Boy’ taking the top spot in the Intro Junior class, while Cara Collins and ‘Vanellope’ won both the Intro Senior and Newcomer classes.

The Prelim class went to Debbie Burns on ‘Baloo’, followed by Katie McCausland on ‘Sox’ in second. Nicky Nesbitt and ‘Carrickview Saratoga’ won the Novice class, with Suzi McLean on ‘Butter’ the runner-up. Victoria McCandless and ‘Koolstyle’ won the Elementary class.

The Pony Club classes went to Alexa Reid on ‘Bonnie’ (Walk/Trot); Erin Gordon on ‘Orlando’ (Prelim); Anna Reid on ‘Binky’ (Grassroots) and Holly Blythe on ‘Mano of Deerpark’ (Novice).

For those who prefer jumping fences to staying within the dressage boards, Wednesday evening saw another round of midweek show jumping, with classes from cross-poles right up to 1m.

Rachael Booth on ‘Freddie’ and Freya Bevan on ‘Buddy’ were first and second respectively in the 90cm class at Ardnacashel’s Wednesday night jumping. Rachael also won the 1m class.
