Eventers dominate at Connell Hill SJI show
Talented combinations jump clear rounds at Randalstown venue
The SJI Summer League continued at Connell Hill on Thursday, with a great turnout across the heights. The smaller classes saw a super number of very talented combinations jumping clear rounds.
The 1.10m class was dominated by eventers, with Steven Smith winning the class on board Tessa Westbrook’s ‘Lavori’ and taking second place with Caroline Overend and Carla Leitch’s ‘CJO Kann Surprise’; third place went to Casey Webb riding Val Breen’s ‘Ballygreenan Break Point’.

In a fantastic display of jumping, Smith repeated his one-two in the 1.20m class, with third place this time going to Hannah Patterson and her own ‘Cookstown Bently’. Patterson went on to win the 1.30m class with her own ‘Daberlina M’.

Connell Hill is an excellent venue and first-class facility to school round, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
