Excited competitors take on Mid Antrim unregistered challenge
Castlehill Equestrian Centre saw some super jumping across the classes
The Unregistered show jumping section of Mid Antrim Horse Show took place at Castlehill Equestrian Centre on Friday, August 2, 2024, by kind permission of Paul and Beverley Caves.

Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:
There were some very excited competitors in the first class, Junior Jumping, where Isla on ‘Nanny McPhee’ and Nathaniel on ‘Penny’ both jumped lovely clear rounds to start the evening off.

This was followed by the 50cm, 60cm and 70cm classes, where Clara Little on ‘Snowy’, Carla Dolan on ‘Lady’ and ‘Carly’, Katie Kilpatrick on ‘Bean’ and ‘Sapphire’ all jumped clear!

The most competitive class of the evening was the 80cm class, won by Katie Kilpatrick on the evergreen ‘Peggy’, with Carla Dolan on ‘Carly’ in second, Poppy Adams on ‘Spot’ in third and Aimee Fleming on the always consistent ‘Jess’ in fourth.

Holly Logan on ‘Owen’s Shadow’ had a very successful evening, as she was the outright winner in both the 90cm and 1m classes.

Many thanks to all sponsors, competitors, helpers on the evening and Beverley for course building. Thanks also to the photographer for the evening, Brian Douglas - photographs are on Mid Antrim Hunt Facebook page.
