Final approaches for Strule Valley club
Show jumping league finale being held at Castle Irvine, Necarne on July 16
STRULE Valley Riding Club held the penultimate night of their Annual Summer Show jumping League on Wednesday, July 9 at Castle Irvine, Necarne on a fine summer’s evening. The final will take place on Wednesday, July 16, starting a little earlier at 6.45pm with the 60cm class, followed by 70cm, 80cm, 90cm and 1 metre open.
Competitors are encouraged to wear show wear on the final night, however this is not necessary. Everyone is very welcome, members and non members, ponies and horses.

Points have been adding up each week and should prove to be an exciting final. In the event of equal points on the final night, optimum time will decide the placings.
The AJS Promotions Perpetual Cup will go to the winner of the 60cm class; the Strule Valley Riding Club Perpetual Cup will go to first place in the 70cm class; the LW Surphlis and Son Perpetual Trophy will go to the winner of the 80cm class; the Good Gracious Perpetual Cup to first place in the 90cm class and the Omagh Equestrian and Countrywear Perpetual Cup to the winner of the 1 metre open class.
The highest placed Strule Valley Riding Club member will receive The Fordie Cathers Perpetual Cup.
Prizes for the final night have been very generously sponsored by Bailey’s Horse Feeds in Ireland, Aldertree Equine, AK Equine, Tamlaght Equestrian Care, Ash Hollow Equestrian and Science Supplements.

Going into the final next Wednesday, out in front in the 60cm class is Kim McKevlin and ‘Jessie’ on full points, jumping double clear each week, however just two points behind is Mya O’Neill on ‘Glebe Star’. Two partnerships are on full points in the 70cm class, Katie Nevin on ‘Maverick’ and Kim McKevlin on ‘Jessie’, jumping flawless rounds each week.
Leading the 80cm class are Helen Badger on ‘Cara’ and Ruby Millar on ‘Tye’, both on full points, jumping double clear each week with faultless rounds. Eimear Watson and ‘Cindy’ are just one point behind.
On full points, jumping flawless rounds each week in the 90cm class are Helen Badger and ‘Cara’.
