From sunshine to showers, local equestrian activities do their best to carry on
Reports, results and pictures from the past week or so, alongside details of future events
Hello folks,
After a fantastic few days of weather at the end of last week, we are seeing a definite shift towards autumn in the past day or two… It was good to see so many competitions able to go ahead in mainly sunshine over the weekend, while the Northern Region event due to be held this coming Saturday has unfortunately had to be cancelled.
Here’s hoping the weekend ahead is without the sporadic and very heavy showers that I have witnessed this week so far and that the Inter-Schools’ jumping at The Meadows gets off to a smooth start, the RDA charity ride and the various other competitions see pleasant weather across the weekend.
This Horse&Field newsletter brings you the latest equine news, as well as reports, results and pictures from local competitions over the past week or so, including a weekend of top class show jumping at the Seamus Kane Memorial Show at Portmore; the second leg of the Autumn Pony Tour, hosted by The Meadows; the first leg of the latest show jumping league at Ecclesville; the Training Show at Connell Hill; the first week of the Jump Mix Series at Hagans Croft; the Extravaganza Show at Knockagh View; the NI Horse Board Youngstock Championships at The Meadows; Saintfield Horse Show at Hazeldene; and Seskinore Harriers success over the summer.
