Full steam ahead for local equestrian activities
Weekend competitions see great turnouts around the country
Hi folks,
Well, we still haven’t altogether got rid of the windy weather, but thankfully it is a lot more settled than it was and last weekend’s competitions were full steam ahead!

Lusk Equestrian got their competitions underway for 2024, with the first of three Working Hunter Shows; there were a wide range of classes for horses and ponies and they included qualifiers for the NI Festival.
The third week of the Flexi Eventing at The Meadows, Lurgan saw a record number of entries - this series just keeps building in popularity! The dressage scores are rather impressive for this early in the year.
Knockagh View held an Arena Eventing competition on Saturday and participants were rewarded with a nice dry afternoon and even a little bit of sunshine!
There was great excitement at Ecclesville on Friday evening, as they held week four of their show jumping league and the last chance for qualification for league prizes. With the final this coming Friday evening, there is sure to be a great buzz in Fintona!
Meanwhile, Strule Valley Riding Club hosted a ‘Confidence Seminar’ and flatwork/polework training with Heather Graham, which proved popular.
In other news, Down Royal Racecourse has just named Friends of the Cancer Centre as its official charity partner for 2024.
