This Saturday, June 29, will see Newry Show return to its new venue on the Derrywilligan Road, Bessbrook, Newry, by kind permission of the Cartmill family. With reduced arena space, unfortunately organisers have had to make the decision to remove horse classes from the schedule, but instead have decided to emphasise the importance of a fun day out for kids, with their steeds being aimed at family pony classes, clear round jumping or the equitation riding classes.

”I would like to take this opportunity to thank our three sponsors, who have come back on board this year again: Greenvale Horse Transport, Newry Hunt and Free Spirit Equestrian Centre,” said Horse Chairman, James Hammond.

“Also a special thank you to Dan’s off sales, Camlough Road for the kids’ refreshments and snacks.
”This is aimed at a fun day out for the kids to enjoy, some of whom have maybe borrowed a saddle or bridle to be able to get there; some may have managed to borrow the whole lot for the day! There will be rosettes and refreshments for every competitor. With entries available on the day, everything is optional, should kids decide they want to change classes.”
It certainly sounds like a very enjoyable day out is in store for anyone who goes along!
