After the success of the first Equine Awards NI in 2022, organisers got straight to work on this year’s awards ceremony!
Equine Awards NI were set up by Jennie Deery to recognise and showcase the work and efforts of all those associated with the equestrian sector and industry in Northern Ireland - nominations for this year’s awards are open now! The 2023 awards will be presented at a black tie event at Titanic Belfast in October.
Jennie became involved in the equestrian world when her daughter, Megan, started to ride in 2021. Jennie saw how much Megan enjoyed being around ponies and realised that all the dedicated people in the equine world needed to be celebrated.
“We became involved in the equestrian world and realised that there was no event here in Northern Ireland that shines a light on the best of the equestrian sector,” Jennie explained. “As I work in the events industry, it seemed natural that we host this event.”
Jennie’s original aim was (and still is) for the finalists to feel honoured and recognised for their achievements and their expertise. The awards ceremony itself will commence with bubbly and live music in the grand atrium, followed by dinner in the Titanic Suite and then the presentation of awards on the iconic Titanic Staircase.
Nominations for this year’s awards have been steady, but there are a few spaces left. Do you know someone you could nominate in the following categories?
- Equine vets
- Grooming Services
- Clipping Services
- Equine Transporters
- Independent Instructors
- Adventures with Horses
If so, please send an email to equinenominations@gmail.com
Alongside these professional awards, the Rising Stars awards will be presented, which recognise the achievements of up and coming young local talent in dressage and show jumping. Qualifiers have been running over the past few months, with the final to be held at Gransha (Bangor, Co. Down) on September 16.
The Equine Awards NI 2023 will be presented on Saturday, October 7 at an awards ceremony at the luxurious Titanic Building in Belfast.
