Hallowe'en hack goes down a treat at Florida Manor
North Down hosts another wonderful afternoon out
The North Down Hallowe’en hack at Florida Manor, Killinchy, on Sunday attracted a good crowd of riders and their horses and ponies, keen to get out for a bit of off-road riding. They were joined by a number of witches, monsters, ghosts, super-heroes and others, who had gone to great efforts with their fancy dress in honour of the occasion!

Florida Manor provided a beautiful setting for a leisurely hack, with the ride following lanes and tracks, as well as making its way round the edges of fields. Riders enjoyed blue sky and sunshine for much of the hack, but unfortunately at one point the heavens opened and there was a torrential downpour that no-one could escape! Some had dressed for the blue skies and got rather wet, while others had anticipated more of the recent wet weather and had dressed accordingly!
Shower over, the blue skies returned, not long before the ride returned to its starting point. Once horses and ponies had been tucked up with their haynets, everyone availed of the wonderful North Down hospitality, which on this occasion consisted of a very welcome barbecue, lots of hot tea and apple pie, as well as lots of other Hallowe'en treats.
Organisers would like to thank Florida Manor for the use of the fabulous venue and participants would like to thank the organisers for hosting such a lovely afternoon out.
