Three- and Four-year-old fillies show their talent in Crossmaglen

Horse Sport Ireland held a loose jumping competition for three- and four-year-old fillies in Kernan’s Equestrian Centre, Crossmaglen on Wednesday, November 1. The filly horse competitions are open to any three- or four-year-old horse that is studbook registered with a breed recorded (this can include main or supplementary section studbook animals).

The top ranked Traditional Irish Horse (TIH) filly will be awarded a prize in the three- and four-year-old horse loose jumping sections. This initiative is funded by the Irish Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

The loose jumping competition kicked off at 4pm with judges Damien Griffin and Gabriel Tunney.

HSI Four-year-old Filly Loose Jumping winner was John Bannon’s ‘Take Your Chance’ (ISH) by ‘Orestus’ (KWPN) out of ‘Shannondale Silver’ (ISH) by ‘Cavalier Royale’ (HOLST). Breeder: Leo Carty.

Prize money was available from first to sixth place in both the three-year-old category and the four-year-old category.

The remaining loose jumping competition for horses will take place in Top Flight, Warrington (HORSES ONLY) on Monday, November 13 (closing date Thursday, November 9).

A competition has since taken place at Tubberbride EC (HORSES ONLY) on Thursday, November 9.
