ILDRA returns to Cam Forest for final time in 2023
Riders enjoy dry conditions, despite forecast of rain showers
ILDRA (Irish Long Distance Riding Association) once again headed north to return to Cam Forest near Limavady on Sunday, September 24. Despite a forecast of rain showers, all riders made it round the tracks of Cam Forest in the dry!
Riders followed endless forested trails, winding through the mountainous terrain, which offered good fitness opportunities for both horses and riders!

Attending veterinary surgeon, Julie Dauncy, MRCVS, vetted both riders choosing to take part in a vetted pleasure ride. Several of ILDRA’s rides offer the option to try a vetted pleasure ride and receive a gentle introduction to the sport of endurance, as well as guidance on how fit your horse is. Think of it as a free vet check!
Thanks go to the forestry service for allowing access to Cam Forest and to Kirsten Conly and John Anderson for marking and running the ride on the day.
ILDRA’s next ride has since taken place at Castle Ward on Sunday, October 8, offering pleasure rides only.
