Jodie claims victory at Portmore
SJI Horse Shows continue at Aghalee venue, with Jodie Creighton winning the 1.30m class for two weeks in a row!
SJI Horse Shows have continued at Portmore Equestrian Centre, Aghalee over the past two weekends, with classes running from 80cm to 1.30m.
Sunday, May 18 saw some very nice combinations taking on the 80cm, 90cm and 1m classes and jumping clear to share the wins. The 1.10m class saw Laura Brown-McCann ride Seamus Duffy’s ‘Lets Not Talk’ into first place, followed by Jason Patterson on his own ‘Downshire Game of Thrones’ in second.
In the 1.20m class, Emma Jackson and her own ‘Kylestone Cashel’ were out on top, with Eimhear Donaghy steering James Donaghy’s ‘TMS Freedom’ into the runner-up position.

Emma and ‘Kylestone Cashel’ rode another super round in the 1.30m class, but this time had to settle for second place behind Jodie Creighton, who claimed victory on board Hilary Furlonger’s ‘Poppys Flash Back’.
The previous week, on May 11, saw a similar story in the minor classes, with a number of combinations jumping clear rounds - particularly in the 1m class, which proved very popular.
In the 1.10m class, Danni Jennings again showed what a ‘Super Star’ her horse is by taking first place, followed by Nicole Fox riding Gwyn Yemm’s ‘Bluestones Ludo’ into second place.
Danni and ‘Super Star’ shone again in the 1.20m class, but not just as brightly as Emma Jackson and ‘Kylestone Cashel’, who took the win, with Danni settling for second place this time round.
Jodie Creighton once again showed her talent when steering Carol M Armstrong’s ‘Cornascriebe Electra Diamond’ to win the 1.30m class.
The competition schedule at Portmore continues this weekend, with a Horse and Pony training show on Saturday, starting at 10am, with classes from cross-poles up to 1.20m - entries will be taken on the day.
An SJI Horse Show is scheduled for Sunday, with classes from 90cm to 1.30m - entries should be made via sji.ie
Tuesday Training Shows are back and run every Tuesday from 6.30pm, starting with 70cm.
