Laurel View League passes mid-Summer point

Results from week three of five-week league at Templepatrick venue

Already the Laurel View Dressage League has passed the halfway mark, with the third competition of five taking place on Sunday, July 7. The next leg will be on August 4 and will be here before we know it - but before Summer runs away altogether, lets look back at the July result!

Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:

Ivor Harper and Martina McKinley were the judges tasked with awarding the marks for all the competitors, who had come from across the province to take part in the competition. Some splendid scores were earned by those at the top of their class. Congratulations to each and every competitor for getting in between the boards and putting their best hoof forward!

It was a first place for Helen Hoffin and ‘Rachel’ in Class 4 at Laurel View.

Katie Watt and ‘Hugo’ were the winning walk/trot pairing at Laurel View.

Class 2 - Prelim 7. Judge - Martina McKinley:

1) Star, Sam Taylor 74.09; 2) Tifftarney PJ Gold, Wendy Forsythe 71.59; 3) Ernie, Sharon McKeever 71.36; 4) Rio, Shane McKeever 67.05; 5) Reva, Mya Morrison 66.14; 6) Follow That Dream, Mel Surgenor 64.77.

Class 3 - Prelim 13. Judge - Martina McKinley:

Class 4 - Prelim 15. Judge - Ivor Harper:

‘Winston’ and Lindsay Gault took home the blue ribbon for Class 4 at Laurel View.

Class 5 - Novice 23. Judge - Ivor Harper:

Class 6 - Open. Judge - Ivor Harper:

1) Dunore Fast and Furious (Nov), Jacqui Lewis 66.48; 2) Kingston Olive (AdMed), Amelia McFarland 65.68; 3) Diago (side saddle) (Nov), Shirley Anderson 62.41.

Jennifer Kingsmill paired with ‘Ludovik K’ earned themselves third place in Prelim 15 at Laurel View.
