Lily and ‘Fireman’ on fire in Hagen
Local girl in incredible form in Germany, as Team Ireland take three Youth Nations Cup titles
Lily Tunney and her pony ‘Fireman’ were certainly on fire on Sunday (June 16), when they won the Future Champions CSIOP 1.30m Grand Prix in Hagen, Germany.
The pair, drawn first to go, opened the competition with an absolutely faultless performance, which saw only seven other clear first rounds.

First to go in the jump-off, Lily and ‘Fireman’ did the same as in their first round - only this time at a blistering speed, which no one was able to beat, finishing 1.75 seconds faster than their nearest rival!
Sunday's result came hot on the heels of Saturday's fabulous performance from Lily and ‘Fireman’, who jumped one of only four double clear rounds in the FEI CSIOP Team event, which saw Team Ireland take the gold medal under the watchful eye of Chef d'Equipe, Gary Marshall.
Team members, Lily Tunney, James Derwin, Ruben Foley and Senan Reape jumped exceptionally well under pressure to take the win.

That wasn’t the extent of Ireland’s successes at Hagen though… the Junior team and the Children on Horses team, managed by James Kernan, both also claimed gold medals! It was definitely a great weekend for Team Ireland!
