With all the recent rain, organisers of Lurgan Show are hoping that the sun shines over Lurgan Park this Saturday, June 1.
Whatever the weather though, there is definitely something for everyone in the horse and pony section!

As well as the usual array of flat ridden classes, there are also working hunter, mountain and moorland, plus in-hand classes. For the first time, the show is delighted to host two RDS Dublin Horse Show Breeders' Championship qualifiers for mares and foals in show jumping and eventing disciplines. These classes have attracted entries from as far away as Wexford and will no doubt be hotly contested.
Quality exhibits require top notch judges, and Lurgan Show will be welcoming Becky Baker and Nicola Shuttleworth over from the mainland to help decide the winners on the day, in addition to some more local faces!
As the show is affiliated to the National Pony Society, it's also worth noting that many of the pony classes are qualifiers for the NPS Area 32 Championships at Clogher Valley Show on July 31.
Competitors please note that, due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be no show jumping at this year’s show, but organisers hope to return with it in 2025. The extra space this year will be used to run a second phase ring for the pony working hunter classes.
A great day of competition and hopefully sunshine is to be had at Lurgan Show this Saturday!
