Hello everyone,
Here is the latest Horse&Field newsletter, bringing you local results, as well as diary dates and previews of forthcoming shows.
As the weekend approaches, those of us who don’t get to ride every day will be looking forward to getting out with our horses or ponies. If you haven’t quite decided where to go yet, please do have a look at the Horse&Field calendar, which lists the local equestrian activities that are taking place. We are trying to make this list as comprehensive as possible, so if you know of any events that aren’t yet listed, please let us know!

To new subscribers, welcome! You will receive this newsletter twice each week, as well as occasional emails in between - we want to keep you informed, but do not want to overload your inbox!
Remember that Horse&Field will be updated on a regular basis and you can visit it at any time to find out what is happening. If you wish, you can download the Substack app; you can search online for: horseandfield.substack.com or, if you are subscribed, just click on the email.
If you have any contributions, queries or suggestions, please do send an email to horseandfield@gmail.com
Have a good weekend!
In the news
Since the previous newsletter was sent out, we have received more local results to share with you, the most exciting of which are the results and some brilliant photos (courtesy of Tori O’Connor) from the final of the Ulster Region Spring Pony Tour, which was held at The Meadows in Lurgan recently.
The competition for the prizes provided by generous sponsors TRI Equestrian was immense and, despite the inclement weather, these young riders and their mounts gave their all to try and secure a podium finish!
Meanwhile, looking ahead, Saintfield Horse Show was launched with a reception for press and sponsors held at Downpatrick Racecourse. This show is always a popular addition to the equestrian calendar, so be sure to put this year’s date of Saturday, August 26 into your diary!
The latest leg of the Summer Dressage League at Knockagh View Equestrian Centre, Greenisland, was held on Sunday and, with the next leg being the final, competitors are upping their game.
The Meadows continued with their SJI Autumn Horse Series and their Cash Back unregistered show jumping; see the action in pictures.
It’s always good to keep abreast of what’s happening in the wider horsey community and this week we have learned that BETA’s Summer of Safety Campaign has teamed up with Spillers to give advice on feed room safety and security.
