Well, Christmas is upon us, so first and foremost, Merry Christmas to all! I hope you all have a peaceful break and I wish you a healthy and Happy New Year.
This Horse&Field newsletter brings you local reports, results and photos from recent events, as well as details of forthcoming activities and, of course, the calendar. There are also a few more general local news stories that may be of interest.

Kernan Equestrian in Crossmglen held the final of their Christmas league and everyone got into festive form!
The Winter Working Hunter league came to a conclusion at Ardnacashel, with some very happy prize winners. Meanwhile, the Christmas Arena Event at Lusk’s went down a treat with competitors, with Pony Club qualifiers for the Spring Festival at Necarne being included.
If you’re looking for a good day out on Boxing Day, don’t forget there is racing at Down Royal and, in more general news, Titanic Hotel Belfast has just won several awards.

Countdown to Christmas at Kernan's
Kernan Equestrian Centre, Crossmaglen held the final of their Countdown to Christmas league last Friday, December 15. Riders and ponies battled it out over a period of six weeks in the run up to Christmas. They collected points weekly for every clear round jumped. A special prize was also awarded for the Best Turned Out duo throughout the league.
Mighty atmosphere at Ardnacashel finale
Wow, what a day was had at Ardnacashel Equestrian, Comber on Sunday at the final of their Winter Working Hunter league! It was a busy day, with additional on-the-day entries and the atmosphere was mighty! A big thank you goes to judge, Nicola Martin for attending the final and giving competitors some lovely feedback.
Arena Event concludes Lusk's competitions for 2023
Lusk Equestrian (Lisburn) held their postponed Xmas Arena event on Sunday, December 17. The event was also a Qualifier for the Pony Club Spring Festival at Necarne.
