Mid Antrim double for Fiona and 'O'Harabrook'
Fiona Thompson won both the 1m and 1.10m classes at Mid Antrim Horse Show
Mid Antrim Horse Show on Saturday, June 29 played host to the second leg of the Fraser Homes Ulster Grand Prix series at Connell Hill Equestrian Centre, Randalstown. With over 200 entries, competition got underway shortly after 8.30am.
The 90cm class, kindly sponsored by McBurney Transport, was won by Jan Brown on her own ‘Balbriggan Boy’. The ever-consistent ‘O’Harabrook’, owned by Eavan White and ridden as usual by Fiona Thompson, were the popular winners of both the 1m and 1.10m, sponsored by AbbeyUpholsterers/Abbey Fit-out, E McIntyre & Son and Country Garage respectively.

The day’s action culminated in a thrilling Grand Prix, sponsored by Friends of Mid Antrim Hunt and JCB/Volvo Dennison Commercials. The worthy winner was Tori Dunn on her lovely horse ‘BP Maestro’, owned by Patrick O’Donoghue.
Tori was presented with the Jim Glass Perpetual Challenge cup by Sally Glass. The late Jim was one of the founding members of the Mid Antrim Horse Show and a long time committee member.
Paul Caves, Show Chairman, thanked all sponsors for their continuing support of the show and he paid tribute to the hard work and help before and on show day of the volunteers and show committee members.
