Monsoons continue, but so do equine activities
Working Hunter, dressage and show jumping from around the country
Hello everyone,
Oh my goodness, the emails have been busy this week - there is so much going on… despite the monsoon conditions we continue to experience! I am working my way through them and, due to newsletter size restrictions, multiple instalments may be required…
This week’s first Horse&Field newsletter instalment brings you an update on results, news and local news!
Some positive news that may be of interest is that Balmoral Show has announced that they have increased the prize fund for their international show jumping classes to over €55,000! That’s great from the competitors point of view, but also from a spectator perspective, as it should attract even more high calibre participants!
Speaking of high calibre, the last of the winter/ spring series of Working Hunter shows at Lusk Equestrian, near Lisburn, was held on Sunday - click below to read more.
Meanwhile, Hagans Croft Equestrian, Bailiesmills, started their Working Hunter League on Saturday, with a great start made by competitors.
Strule Valley Riding Club held their Annual Dressage Show at Omagh RDA, with high standards of tests being ridden and beautiful turnout of horses and riders!
Moving on to show jumping, Connell Hill, Randalstown, held another of their popular training shows on Saturday, with some top class rounds being jumped!
The penultimate round of the show jumping league was held at Ecclesville on Friday night and this week’s final is sure to be very exciting.
Pony jumping continues at Mossvale Equestrian Centre, Dromara on Friday nights, with stiff competition for the ribbons and trophies on offer!
More details on these and more are available by clicking on the stories below or visiting Horse&Field and having a scroll through!
The Horse&Field calendar lists local equine activities and is updated on a daily basis. We are trying to make the calendar as comprehensive as possible and it currently lists shows and events right up until the Autumn, so if you know of any events that aren’t yet listed, please let us know!
To new subscribers, welcome! You will receive this newsletter twice each week, as well as occasional emails in between - we want to keep you informed, but do not want to overload your inbox!
Please remember that Horse&Field will be updated on a regular basis and you can visit it at any time to find out what is happening. If you wish, you can download the Substack app; you can search online for: horseandfield.substack.com or, if you are subscribed, just click on the email.
If you have any articles or photos to contribute, queries or suggestions, or if there is someone you think deserves to be featured in Horse&Field, please do send an email to horseandfield@gmail.com
