Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:
All the preparations were made, the courses were built and the prizes were ready and waiting, but sadly Mother Nature put a stop to the Two Phase competition due to be held on Sunday, August 20 at Ash Hollow Equestrian, Dromore, Co. Tyrone.
After the heavy rainfall overnight on Friday and with more forecast for Saturday, the ground was wet and organisers, James and Alison Callion, felt it just wasn’t safe enough to run and they wanted to give entrants as much notice as possible.
“We've had another amazing entry of almost 100, and we can't thank everyone enough for all their support. It really is appreciated,” said Alison.
“We aim to reschedule to September and we'll post that date ASAP.”
For all those competitors who had already entered, your entry and entry fee can be carried over to the rescheduled date (to be confirmed), or you can be refunded. Please get in touch to let Alison know which you would prefer.
A big thank you is extended to the two course builders, Adam Stevenson X Country and Conor McCabe, who had already prepared lovely courses; caterer Rory Hungry Ginger; photographers, Enda Dalyphoto and Jonathan JRS Photography; paramedic JD Ambutran Event Medical Services and the amazing band of willing volunteers for their support and understanding.
Ash Hollow apologise again for the disappointment.
