NEWSFLASH: Change of venue for Saintfield Horse Show
2023 show moves to Knockagh View, Greenisland
Due to exceptionally wet weather, this Saturday (August 26)’s Saintfield Horse Show has had to change their venue to Knockagh View Equestrian Centre, 234 Upper Road, Greenisland, Co. Antrim, BT38 8RP, kindly hosted by Ruth Logan.
Organiser, Joan Cunningham is delighted that all the scheduled classes can go ahead, with entries currently still open.
Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:
Along with all the usual riding classes, Working Hunter for horses and ponies and mounted fancy dress for children, the show will also host The Ulster Tatler sponsored Ladies Side Saddle Championship; The Downpatrick Racecourse sponsored Racehorse to Riding Horse, which will be judged by Downpatrick Racecourse Director Noel Chance, who trained the winner of The Cheltenham Gold Cup on two different occasions.
As well as the usual Championships, there will be three new ones this year… An Irish Draught Championship, a Coloured Championship and a Veteran Championship.
Trade Stands, Best Dressed Lady, Novelty Event, Food Village, Live Country Music with Box Car Brian and Gerard Dornan and, don’t forget, if you haven’t got a horse or pony, you can enter your dog in the pet dog classes at 2pm (entries on the field for the pet dog classes).
REMEMBER: THE SAINTFIELD HORSE SHOW IS A 100% CHARITY EVENT…
