As the year draws to a close, the Northern Ireland Horse Board (NIHB) eagerly looks forward to the exciting events that lie ahead in 2024. With great pride, they reflect on the success of their 2023 Mares’ Production classes, Performance Young Horse classes and the remarkable Foal Show. These achievements have set a solid foundation for the growth and development of the equestrian community in Northern Ireland. Now, they turn to their valued supporters and the wider equestrian community for their unwavering support in raising funds for the 2024 Events programme.

At the core of the NIHB's mission is their commitment to fostering unity and collaboration within the equestrian community. They firmly believe that when everyone works together, remarkable results can be achieved. It is with this spirit of togetherness that they announce the NIHB Christmas Raffle - an opportunity for everyone to contribute to the success of upcoming events, while standing a chance to win fantastic prizes.
Generous contributions
The NIHB extends heartfelt gratitude to the local businesses that have generously donated a range of captivating prizes for the Christmas Raffle. Their support is a testament to the shared dedication and passion for the equestrian industry in Northern Ireland.
Ranging from an overnight stay in the Clayton Hotel, Ballsbridge to tickets to some of Ireland largest equestrian events including 2024 Dublin Horse Show, Balmoral Show, as well as racing at Down Royal and Downpatrick racecourses, there is something for everyone.
For the foodies out there, there are Food Hampers, Gourmet meat and poultry packages, as well as sweet treats from local producers. Not forgetting the four-legged friends, both big and small, there have been donations from TRI Equestrian, Doagh Equestrian, Rowan Equestrian and Country, as well as dog hampers prepared by Jollyes Pet Superstore in Omagh.
Supporting local breeders
One of the NIHB’s primary goals is to provide increased prize funds that will directly benefit Northern Ireland breeders. By mobilising the collective support of the equestrian community, they can offer greater incentives to breeders and recognise their invaluable contributions to the industry.
“Through the NIHB Christmas Raffle, we aim to establish a fund that will help nurture and reward the hard work and dedication of these breeders,” said Director General of the NI Horse Board, Chris Bogle.
The NIHB Christmas Raffle is scheduled to take place on Monday, December 18. Tickets for the raffle are priced at £5 each or five for £20, ensuring that everyone can participate and make a meaningful contribution to the cause.
