One Arm Challenge to raise funds for MND
After being diagnosed with MND, Aileen Feeney is keen to raise awareness and support the Motor Neurone Disease Association
Kathy McMullan of The Grooms’ Group has been in touch to make people aware of an additional challenge that will be happening at the National Balmoral Championships, in aid of a worthwhile cause.
“None of us knows what is around the corner for us and tomorrow any one of us could be hit with life-changing news. One such person is Aileen Feeney from County Antrim,” stated Kathy on The Grooms’ Group Facebook page.
“A keen horsewoman, Aileen has been recently diagnosed with MND (Motor Neurone Disease). Aileen has developed the ‘One Arm Challenge’ to raise awareness of MND and Geoff Billington has actually risen to this challenge.
“So, after discussions with Aileen and National Balmoral, we have decided to do the One Arm Challenge before the Grand Prix on Sunday, July 20th. All we ask is for willing competitors to jump one practice fence with one arm,” Kathy continued.

If any competitors are up for this challenge, please send a message to Kathy McMullan of The Grooms’ Group via Facebook (grooms are asked to please encourage their riders to take part).
Kathy is also looking for someone to video this event, so there is maximum opportunity to raise awareness….
Aileen has started a Just Giving page to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, who focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. By sponsoring Aileen, your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. If you would like to contribute, please click here
Please have a think and, if you can, support such a worthy cause.
