One-two for O'Brien at Connell SJI league

Aidan O'Brien placed first and second in the 1.30m class at Randalstown venue

Connell Hill, Randalstown, held another leg of their SJI Summer Horse League on Thursday, May 1, with classes from 80cm up to 1.30m.

Lesley Jones jumped clear in the 80cm class on board Yvonne Pearson’s four-year-old Claudie the Dandy, while in the 90cm and 1m classes, there were a number of combinations who jumped clear to share the wins.

Ian Moore continued his run of good form to win the 1.10m class on board his own ‘Pinecroft Lamiro’, followed by Shane McCloskey on Liam McCloskey’s ‘Clonterm Lorenzo’ in second.

Ian Moore and ‘Pinecroft Limiro’ won the 1.10m class at Connell Hill’s SJI Summer Horse League.

The 1.20m and 1.30m classes belonged to Aidan O’Brien, who claimed the red ribbon in the 1.20m with Kieran O’Brien’s ‘Baskin Centerfold’ and the 1.30m honours with ‘Doneybrewer Quest’ for the same owner.

Runner-up spot in the 1.20m class went to Lisa Talbot on her own ‘GHS Fremont’, while in the 1.30m Aidan O’Brien completed a one-two with Daniel Coyle’s ‘Rock Angelo’.
