Quality day for Caves at The Meadows

Paul Caves had a great day at the Lurgan venue, winning both the 1.20m and 1.30m classes

It was Paul Caves’ day at The Meadows on Saturday, May 17, when he secured a double, winning both the 1.20m and 1.30m classes.

Caves took the win in the 1.20m class on board his own ‘Quality Night’, followed by Joe Harding riding Margaret Gallagher’s ‘CBI Heart Stopper’ in second and Amy Roberts with Morris G Smyth and Elaine Smyth’s ‘Elamo I Am Legend’ in third.

Caves went on to win the 1.30m class with his own ‘Cafre Quality Clover’, who has proved to be a very reliable partner. Jordan Parr rode Rachel Finnegan’s ‘Imperfectly Perfect’ into the runner-up spot, with Sharon Callaghan taking third with Henry Callaghan’s ‘Lambourghini’.

The 1.10m class went the way of Ian Moore on his own ‘Pinecroft Galaxy’, followed by Danni Jennings on her own ‘Super Star’ in second and Robert McKee on his own ‘Lady of Honour’ in third.

The metre class proved popular, with a number of combinations completing double clear rounds, while the 80cm and 90cm classes had fewer entries.

Zara McConville and ‘Elsa’ jumped clear in the 50cm Unregistered class at The Meadows.

Competition at the Meadows continues on Saturday, May 24 with the SJI Summer Series, as well as the unregistered show jumping.
