Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:
The weather was kind and they both thoroughly enjoyed taking turns to ride their cob ‘Mario’ around the racecourse… with a welcome break for him and the volunteers between circuits.
RDA is so grateful to ILDRA and Downpatrick racecourse for giving them this opportunity and for the warm welcome and rosettes presented to the riders by ILDRA Committee Member Kirsten Conly.
Minnowburn RDA Group are very sad to be leaving their home for some 30 years at the Burn Equestrian Centre, which faces imminent closure due to the termination of the lease and the decision by the Department of Health that the land is no longer required by them and must be disposed of.
They are grateful that they have managed to find a new home for ‘Mario’ and hopefully he will settle in well there and they will be able to continue to provide their much-needed service to their riders.
Photos show the riders, Patsy and Gareth, receiving their rosettes from Kirsten, watched by Minnowburn volunteers Frances, Alison, Hugh and Una. Also ‘Mario’ and the team putting their best foot forward around the course.
Well done everyone.
