Lesley Jones took first place in the 1.20m class with Yvonne Pearson's chestnut gelding

The SJI Summer Horse League at Connell Hill, Randalstown continued on Thursday, July 3 and saw some super jumping.

The biggest class on the day was the 1.20m, as there were no entries for the 1.30m. Lesley Jones rode Yvonne Pearson’s ‘Cairnview Redwood Guy’ to win the 1.20m, with Gary Jackson on his own ‘Dstud Billy Elliot’ in second place.

In the 1.10m class, Christopher Smyth took the top spot with Samuel J Smyth’s ‘Ballylurgan Hold Up’, while Katy McLean rode Sarah McLean’s ‘Drumrankin Serpent’ into the runner-up position and Gwen Scott steered Shirley A Hurst’s ‘Tattygare Me Me Me’ into third.

Four combinations managed to jump double clear over the 1m track, with three clear rounds at 90cm and just one in the 80cm class.

Anna Jackson and ‘Nimrod lhr’ jumped double clear in the 1m class at Connell Hill’s SJI Summer Horse League.

The SJI Summer Horse League continues at the venue on Thursday, July 10, with entries via SJI Live.
