Round of applause for Tim and 'Crackerjack'
Ulster Region well represented in Balmoral Under 10s qualifier
There was great excitement in the pony ranks, as the first Under 10s qualifier for this year’s Balmoral Show in May was held at Cavan Equestrian Centre on Sunday.
Six-year-old Ulster Region pony show jumper, Tim Morton and his very talented eight-year-old pony, ‘Parkhill Crackerjack’ did it; this skilful pair won the first Balmoral Under 10 qualifier!

From a strong class of 35 combinations all looking for a golden ticket, 19 young athletes jumped clear in the first round. Tim, who is Ronnie and Joanne Morton's son, was last to go in the jump-off and proved unstoppable, producing the winning round.
Tim and one of his other ponies, ‘Tuscan Star’ also finished in sixth place. Well done Tim, what an amazing day for you!

The Ulster Region success didn’t stop there, though. Nine-year-old Caitie McEvoy and her amazing pony, ‘Tynnan Tuttle Pip’ (‘Princess’) also secured their golden ticket for the Balmoral Under 10s Final, finishing in third place.
Caitie, who has just taken over the ride of ‘Tynnan Tuttle Pip’ from her big sister, Cliodna, is off to a brilliant start - definitely a pair worth watching out for. Well done, Caitie!
