Seskinore Harriers well-represented at Area Show jumping, Area Eventing and Area Tetrathlon!
Seskinore Harriers members celebrate successes as they look forward to hosting Area Dressage
Well done to all members taking part in the Pony Club Area 17 Show jumping at the Meadows on July 8.
In the Mini Class, Seskinore Harriers members Caroline Wallace, Jessica McCarroll and Myra McCarroll all rode very well and gained lots of experience at this level.
In the PC70 PLUS, Maria Elliott rode a lovely round, placing third in her class and qualifying for Regionals. Well done, Maria!
In the PC80, Shannon Smyth and Rebecca Sheridan represented Seskinore Harriers on their young horses. No rosettes on this occasion, but lots of experience gained.
In the PC90, Lily Beatty, Emma McGillion, Orlaith McCarron and Callie Cooke represented Seskinore Harriers in the team competition. A few unlucky poles in the jump-off kept them out of the rosettes in the team placings this time. Lily Beatty had three lovely clear rounds in a competitive class, placing eighth overall, leaving her in a qualifying position for the Pony Club JCB Championships in England. Well done, Lily!
In the PC100, Zara Smyth, Emma McGillion and Orlaith McCarron took on the challenging course. All jumped exceptionally well, with the team placing sixth in a very competitive class and securing their qualifying place for the Pony Club JCB Championships in England.

Area Eventing
The next Area Competition on Seskinore Harriers agenda was the Area Eventing, which was held on July 14 at Lusk’s Equestrian Centre. Well done to all members who took part.
In the challenging PC100, Charley Love represented Seskinore Harriers.
In the PC90, Stewart Beattie and Zara Smyth took on the challenge. Both rode good dressage tests and had clears in both Show Jumping and cross-country. The time in the cross-country proved to be influential. Well done, Stewart, who placed eighth overall in this competitive class.

Next up, it was the PC70, where Catherine Beattie placed seventh in a very competitive class. Catherine rode a lovely dressage test, along with a clear Show Jumping and cross-country round.
Finally, it was the PC70 Plus class, where Lily Beatty continued her good form and won the class, having produced a lovely dressage test, along with clear Show Jumping and cross-country rounds. New member Maddison O'Kane placed third, having again ridden a nice dressage test with clear Show Jumping and cross-country rounds. Both girls have qualified for the Pony Club Regional Championships in Scotland in August.

Area Tetrathlon
Over the weekend of July 20 and 21, members travelled to County Down, where they took part in the Area Tetrathlon, consisting of swim, run, shoot and cross-country ride. Competitors have the option to complete all four disciplines for the Tetrathlon or just the swim, run and shoot for a Triathlon.
On Saturday, members participated in the swim and shoot phases at Down Leisure Centre, before moving on to Hazeldene Farm in Ballynahinch for the running phase. Then on Sunday, riders braved the cross-country phase of the weekend.
Once again, this year Seskinore Harriers members showed that their practice paid off when it came to the prize giving!
In the Open Boys’ class, Patrick Williams had a superb shoot of 940, with his sister Sophia Williams in the Open Girls’ class, not wanting to be outdone, also having a shoot of 940. Both siblings had fast swim and run times and rode brilliant cross-country rounds, leaving them both placing first in their respective classes.
In the Junior Boys’, Stewart Beattie had a strong run with a clear cross-country round on ‘Milly’, leaving him in fourth place. His team also placed second.

Stewart’s sibling Catherine Beattie competed in the Minimus class and had a great shoot of 820 and a lovely clear cross-country round. Her Mini Mixers team placed fourth.
Next up was the Beanies class, where two Seskinore competitors, Pippa Dickson and Toby Callion both rode lovely clear cross-country rounds. Toby had a very good beanbag throw of 840, which helped take him to third place. Both Pippa and Toby were part of the Caterpillar Mix team, which placed second.

Triathlon
In the Minimus class, Henry Coote had a very good shoot and strong swim gaining his fourth place. Callie Cooke had a very good shoot and swim. Callie had the fastest run, taking her to first place! Well done, Callie!
In the Junior Boys’ class, sibling Logan Cooke didn’t want to be outdone by his sister and put all his training over the past few months into practice and placed first in the class - so both siblings went home very happy.
Finally, in the Tadpoles class, Joey Dickson had a great day, placing fourth in a very competitive class.Â

Next up on the calendar for this year is the Area Dressage on July 27 in Omagh Showgrounds, which is being hosted by Seskinore Harriers Pony Club. There is an amazing entry and wish Good Luck to everyone taking part!
