Show jumping under sunny skies at The Meadows

Lurgan venue hosted two days of competition, for registered and unregistered combinations

The Meadows Equestrian Centre, Lurgan, hosted its first Show Jumping Ireland shows of 2025 under sunny skies, with two days of competition on March 8 and 9.

Day one saw over 300 entries compete at the newly upgraded Embankment Road arenas. In the 1.30m class, Connie McFadden triumphed over her sister Cara on ‘Domar Van De Neerheide’, owned by McFadden Equine. Arena 2 featured the second leg of the Meadows Spring Unregistered Show Jumping league, with an increased turnout.

Sunday was packed, with events in all three fibre-sand arenas. The main arena hosted day two of the SJI classes, ending with the 1.25m Grand Prix. Lisa Doogan from Fermanagh won with her 12-year-old mare ‘Cove Park’, followed by Michael Roche with ‘BP Othello’ in second place and Young Rider Teaghán Eamonn Burns taking third with ‘Gee Que’.
