SJI Spring League commences at Connell Hill

Registered combinations enjoy week day competition at Randalstown venue

Connell Hill Equestrian Centre, Randalstown, held the first of their SJI Spring League shows on Thursday, March 20, giving registered show jumpers an opportunity to get out during the week and jump round well-designed tracks in the super facilities at the venue.

Classes ran from 80cm up to 1.30m - although at this early stage of the season, the latter attracted no entries. No doubt, as the weeks pass and horses build their experience, entries in the bigger classes will rise.

Ryan Williamson scored a double on the day, winning both the 1.10m and 1.20m classes on board Stephanie Williamson’s ‘Quam-Quami de Rialfo’. He was followed in the 1.10m class by Ian Moore on his own ‘Pinecroft Galaxy’ in second, with Katie Wray on her own ‘Crann Darach’ in third.

Meanwhile, in the 1.20m class, Lesley Jones and Yvonne Pearson teamed up to take second and third places - Lesley rode Yvonne’s horses ‘Quality Choice’ to take the runner-up spot and ‘Cairnview Redwood Guy’ to take third.

The SJI Spring League continues next Thursday.
