SJI Spring League continues at Connell Hill
Home win for Jodie in 1.20m class at Randalstown venue
Connell Hill held another of their popular SJI Spring League shows on Thursday, April 24, which saw a good turnout for the horse classes and a few ponies were also in attendance.
Ellie McDowell and Lucy Maher rode clear rounds in the 80cm and 90cm classes respectively, while several combinations kept a clean slate round the 1m course.

In the 1.10m class, Ian Moore and his own ‘Pinecroft Galaxy’ took the red ribbon, followed by Ruth Will riding Margaret Horan’s ‘Burst of Classe’ in second and Ellie McDowell on board Colin McDowell’s ‘Vanderbitt’ in third.
With no entries for the 1.30m class this week, the 1.20m was the concluding horse class of the day and saw Jodie Creighton ride Joanne Sloan Allen’s WKD Valencia into first place, ahead of Harry Marshall with his own ‘Morning Attraction’ (Ihr) in second and Zac Hanna on Nicole Galbraith’s ‘Marylynn TN’ in third.
The pony classes saw fewer entries this week, perhaps affected by schools being back after the Easter holidays. Those in attendance made good use of their opportunity to jump round the challenging track.
The competition schedule at Connell Hill continues with the SJI Spring League on Thursdays (except for May 15, due to Balmoral Show) and unregistered training shows on Saturdays through May and June.
