'Stormbird' soars to Meadows win

Spring Horse Show and MEC Young Horse Challenge continues at Lurgan venue

The Spring Horse Show and MEC Young Horse Challenge continued at The Meadows, Lurgan on Saturday, April 12, with registered classes running from 80cm up to 1.30m, including sections for four, five, six and seven-year-olds.

There was a great turnout for the 80cm and 90cm SJI classes, but this was far surpassed by the entrants and clear rounds for the 1m class!

Brooklyn Edwards rode his own ‘Mr Cava Blue’ to win the 1.10m SJI class, ahead of Nicole Fox on Gwyn Yemm’s ‘Bluestones Ludo’ in second. Nicole scored another runner-up finish in the 1.20m SJI class, just being pipped by Katie Scott with her own ‘Loughehoe Rebel’.

The 1.30m SJI class went to Angela Waras riding David Prentice’s ‘Stormbird’, followed by Markus Buser with his own ‘Kesha’ in second place.
