Superb jumping at Ulster Grand Prix Series at Connell Hill

The sixth leg of the 2024 Fraser Homes Ulster Grand Prix Series was held at Connell Hill Equestrian Centre on Saturday, August 3 and saw some superb rounds of jumping!

There was tight competition across all the classes, from 90cm up to 1.35m, with the ladies taking control of the first three classes. Jan Brown on ‘Balbriggan Boy’ took the top spot in the 90cm class, with Niamh McFall on ‘Bay of Biscay’ first in the 1m class and Ava Stubbs on ‘Tullyhill Lucy Diamond’ the winner of the 1.10m class.

The tables turned in the last two classes, with Kevin Mackey riding Alyson Henry’s Caugherty Ronan to win the 1.20m class. Meanwhile, in the 1.35m class, Robert Russell on board Jane Russell’s Ballyrobin Nimmerdor just edged ahead of Ben Walsh riding Jillian Nelson’s Adastra Milo to take the win, with Walsh settling for the runner-up spot on this occasion.
