Talent on display at Connell Hill

Training Show attracts horses, ponies and riders to Randalstown venue

Saturday, March 9 at Connell Hill Equestrian Centre, Randalstown, saw junior riders, Molly Ferguson on ‘Honey’ and sisters, Rose and Violet Semple on ‘Prince’ taking the honours of double clear rounds at the weekend’s Training Show.

A lovely double clear round in the 60cm went to Leah McCord on ‘Rosie’, followed closely by Molly Ferguson with her young pony ‘Honey’ and Annabel Manson on ‘Harry’.

It was a great day for Annie Morrow, who took first place on ‘Bonnie’ in the 70cm and then jumped another lovely double clear in the 80cm, along with competitors Janene Gamble on ‘Pablo’, Rose Semple on ‘King’ and Kate Spence on ‘Sienna’, all taking joint first place.

Penny McWhirter on ‘Winnie’ and Darragh Murphy on ‘Rocky’ took equal first place in the 90cm class. Well done to Darragh Murphy, who rode her two mounts again, ‘Justin’ and ‘Rocky’ in the next class, the 1m.

Joint first place in the 1.10m class went to riders Frankie Kealey on ‘Dan’ and Ben Maybin on ‘Ruby’.

Well done to all competitors and everyone who travelled to Connell Hill in Randalstown to take part.

Connell Hill Training Shows continue this weekend on March 16 and every Saturday morning throughout March, starting at 10am. Classes will range from cross-poles (assisted/unassisted) right the way up to 1.20m/1.30m.

Lyndon McKee Photography will be on-site to capture everyone in photographs.

Entries will be taken on the day. Everyone is always welcome.
