The Meadows hosts successful Pony Spring Tour
Incredible combinations and fabulous rounds jumped at Lurgan venue
Over 370 ponies took to the arenas of the Meadows Equestrian Centre for the latest leg of the popular TRI Equestrian Spring Tour, organised by the Pony Committee of Show Jumping Ireland’s Ulster Region on Sunday, March 23.
There were some incredible combinations in attendance, with some fabulous rounds being jumped! The 128 classes ran from 50cm up to 1m and proved very popular. The 128 85cm Under 10 class was an RUAS Balmoral Qualifier and was won by Tim Morton riding Martin McEvoy’s ‘Dutch Lady’ (NL).

The 138 and 148 classes commenced with a shared 70cm newcomer class. The 138 classes ran up to 1.10m, with the 138 1m class being won by Zac Hanna on board Nicole Galbraith’s ‘Highburren Cameron’, while the 138 1.10m class went to Cliodhna McEvoy riding Martin McEvoy’s ‘Etoile Des Chesnaies’.
The 148 1.10m class saw Zoie Dobbins take the win with Carrickanee Sporthorses Ltd’s ‘Derryvane Belle’ and the red ribbon in the 148 1.20m class went to Ted Gibson with Edna Gamble’s ‘Glenarousk Flash Bandit’.
Children on Horses / Junior classes ran at 1m and 1.10m/1.20m, with the latter being won by Zara-Jane Kelly on Martin and Tracy Kelly’s ‘Erne River View’.
