The Movement of the Horse
Understanding Equine Health, Performance and Training in Equine Assisted Services
The second in a series of workshops, facilitated by the One Equine Trust to advance practice, awareness and learning around Equine Assisted Services (EAS) in Northern Ireland is being held next Wednesday, November 29 at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus from 1pm until 7pm.
In collaboration with the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), a workshop and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) event has been created, which will focus on the movement of the horse and the impact this can have within the delivery of EAS.

Hello and welcome to Horse&Field. Our aim is to support local, grass roots equestrian enthusiasts and competitors and keep you all informed of what’s happening in the horsey world, as well as covering all things agricultural. If you haven’t already subscribed you can do so below:
The event will consist of three workshop sessions, each presented by a professional involved in equine health, education or EAS, followed by a panel discussion with the speakers.
The keynote speakers, Leo Powell, Rupert Isaacson, Terri Brosnan, Clare Maria Campbell and Ulster University, will cover a range of areas of expertise in the movement and performance of the horse and the impact of the movement on service recipients. It will focus on the need for strong groundwork foundations for all horses, as well as delving deeper into the improved neurological outcomes for service users when horses are trained to perform higher level dressage movements.
The schedule for the day will be: 1pm Registration; 1.15pm Introduction to event; 1.30-5.30pm Workshops; 5.30-6.15pm Break; 6.15pm-7pm Panel discussion.
The workshop sessions will be on: Equine movement and groundwork training; Equine health and movement; Equine facilitated therapy education for Allied Health Professionals and how it is applied in practice.
This event carries CPD points for BHS and HSI coaches, AHPs and RDA instructors.
