Lessons will start on the Saturday morning – with two lessons a day on Saturday and Sunday.
Flatwork, polework and jumping will be available and an interactive talk with Eric.
If you would like to stay, hook up is available on site or book your own accommodation nearby.
Your time at the camp is tailored to suit you and your horse, whatever level you are working from. If you only want to do flat work that is fine. The aim is to make you more confident in your riding, to enhance the harmony of the relationship with your horse, give you a plan to work to and, of course, to allow you to have a fabulous time with other like-minded horse owners.
Facilities at Gransha Equestrian Centre, 10a Kerrs Road Bangor Co Down BT19 7QD include two outdoor arenas, two indoor arenas and an all-weather cross-country play pen track.
This is a unique and special opportunity to train with a world renowned coach.
About the Coach
Eric Smiley FBHS (Fellow of the British Horse Society)
Eric is well-known to many in Ireland, he is a popular and charismatic member of the equestrian world. A wise head with much knowledge and experience. He has bred and produced many young horses from birth to competition and he believes in taking time with each horse, treating each as an individual and giving each one the opportunity to mature in both body and mind. He passes this knowledge to his pupils, giving them the tools to work through and understand the training process for both horse and rider.
Eric has represented Ireland at two European Championships, gaining team bronze medal on each occasion. He has competed at three World Equestrian Games and been on four Olympic Teams competing at Barcelona and Atlanta. A consistent and regular participant at Burghley and Badminton, he has also represented Ireland at all levels of international competition throughout Europe.
Eric now lives in Dorset with his wife Sue. He still enjoys breeding and developing young horses.
He has written three books:
Look… No Hands! Straightforward Cross-country
Two Brains One Aim
The Sport Horse Problem Solver
(The BHS Fellowship is the ultimate aspiration for any coach and is recognised as the highest equestrian qualification in the world.)
