Unfortunately, the weather has struck another blow to the eventing community, with this weekend’s event at Tyrella now cancelled. In case anyone was intending to go along to spectate, please be aware of the following…
Note from the Organiser (on Wednesday, April 10):
Following a site inspection at Tyrella this afternoon, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the event on Saturday. There has been continuous overnight rain all week, which has negated the impact of the pumping, which has been going on since Monday.
We were going to be able to manage the parking, but part of the field being used for dressage is still under water. Part of the cross-country course is also affected.
Fortunately, the forecast for next week looks much better, so our decision not to run this week will, hopefully, also preserve conditions for Tyrella 3 due to be held on April 20.
We apologise profusely for what is, undoubtedly, yet another major disappointment for everyone concerned, but even our best endeavours were not enough to outweigh the horrendous weather conditions currently being experienced.
Hopefully, we’ll see you all on April 20.
As per Rule 3.10 a full refund of entry fee, less card charges will be applied to the credit cards from which the payments were made.
Lisgarvan 2 (April 14) are not in a position to take late entries, but will operate a waitlist for withdrawals on a class-by-class basis. To be added to the waitlist, please email:
headoffice@eventingireland.com stating the rider, horse and class.
